Simple ways to save water!

With those warm summer months just around the corner here is some great information I got from the City of Pleasanton, CA on how to save water and money!

"Outside irrigation represents over 50% of a typical residential water bill during the warmer summer months. Here are some simple outdoor water saving tips that can significantly reduce your water bill without spending a dime!
  • During the late fall, winter and early spring months turn off your sprinklers and let nature do the watering for you!
  • During the hotter summer months, set your lawn watering to once every 3 days. In late spring or early fall, set your lawn watering to once per week.
  • Don't mow turf grass lower than 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 inches to help promote lawn roof growth. This will also reduce your lawn's need for frequent watering and reduce water evaporation.
  • Water after 10:00 pm and before 6:00 am to reduce evaporation from heat and wind.
Hope this helps you save some water and money!
