Once again, while surfing the internet I came across a cool "green" site. Greenmap.org is a site that has "green" maps for over 350 different areas throughout the world. To quote their website:
"Green Map System empowers a diverse global movement mapping green living, nature, social and cultural resources in cities, villages and neighborhoods in over 50 countries.
Developing local sustainability networks, we expand the demand for healthier, more vibrant communities with our adaptable mapmaking tools and universal icons, multi-lingual participatory websites, workshops and regional hubs.
Working collaboratively since 1995, Green Maps bring people of all ages together to discover, share and care for their communities. Get involved and support this award-winning perspective-changing movement."
I looked up the map for my area and it was interesting to see all the different "green" types of things I was unaware of just in my part of the San Francisco Bay Area. You can find a map for your area or more about this cool group by visiting www.greenmap.org.

Hi Kate,
I also like to do something for increasing greenry around the place I live at and your post has given me some good ideas.
To support the 'Go Green' movement at my end, I recently brought a electric bike from R Martin Bikes, and love the way it runs.
Nice to see other people sharing views to promote this cause. I'll be back to read more. Till then,
